About the Opportunity:

The Procurement Lead is responsible for managing strategic procurement activities in support of the Collins Class Submarine Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program and its supply chain.

The Collins Class submarine fleet’s Life of Type Extension (LOTE) will provide the nation with submarine capability into the 2030’s. The Collins boats are internationally regarded among the best conventional submarines in the world. The project is currently in the detailed design phase including the procurement of long lead items and ASC is working closely with its stakeholders to deliver the Navy’s specific requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

The Procurement Lead is responsible for leading the engagement with strategic suppliers and undertaking contracting and procurement activity at all levels including defining and executing strategic sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, and pro-actively managing complex contracts, ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.

 

About You: 

  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing, or resource environment. ASDEFCON experience is highly regarded.
  • In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management and contracting principles and best practices.
  • Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and other business value through the development and implementation of sourcing strategy and plans.
  • Possesses project management skills to manage procurement and contract management activities to agreed timelines and budget restraints.
  • Significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development.

 

 

Eligibility:

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
