About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team, supporting the development, delivery, and implementation of procurement activities for the SSN-AUKUS Program. Reporting to the Procurement Manager SSN AUKUS, you will play a crucial role in managing suppliers, negotiating purchases, conducting sourcing activities, including purchasing administrative duties and ensuring the successful execution of procurement requirements within your delegated authority. 

This role is a full time Permanent opportunity. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage suppliers and program purchasing requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage purchase orders for SSN-AUKUS Program.
  • Establish and develop internal and external relationships to meet program requirements.
  • Execution of full cycle low/medium risk strategic procurements (as assigned by the SSN-AUKUS Procurement Manager).
  • Ensure procurement activities are undertaken ethically, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement activities.
  • Comply with ASC governance requirements and support internal and external audits.
  • Support sourcing and contract management activities, including supplier’s qualification and management, across key procurement categories.

 About you

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant Procurement role.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications such as business, law, engineering or supply chain (Desirable)
  • Strong skills in MRP systems (IFS desirable) and Microsoft Office products

 

  • Strong ability to negotiate and process purchase orders.
  • Good knowledge of procurement practices and contract management.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.

Eligibility and Requirements

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.  

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
