About the Opportunity 

 

Exciting opportunity as a Project Accountant supporting a new team based in Henderson, WA.  Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing financial performance of the SSN sustainment program.  Delivering value added services to stakeholders through accurate, timely financial performance and project costs information and financial guidance in support of project delivery and decision-making.  They Operate in a complex contract environment with funding limits at activities level and expense level (matrix form) and in an open book arrangement with the customer.   

This is a heavily business partnering focused role that requires strong analytical skill and a good communicator with advanced interpersonal skills who can build and maintain strong working relationships with Key Stakeholders which include the cost account managers, capability managers, project/program managers and the Executive. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Program Reporting, Budgeting and Analysis 

  • Business partnering with a range of different stakeholders 

  • Managing with overseas secondment of labour 

  • Invoicing and debtor management 

  • Ensuring correct application of indexation, forex in relation to contracts 

  • Monthly program forecasting 

  • Monthly reconciliations and review of accuracy of information 

  • Ad-hoc Contract support and analysis 

  • Support to External and Customer Audits (including annual contract true-up’s) 

  • Program Cash flow management 

 

About you  

 

You will be required to operate with a reasonable degree of autonomy, drive and self-motivation.  This is a new environment requiring your ability and experience to develop, set up processes and dashboards:    

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting. Full membership (or part qualified) in ASCPA, ICA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification with significant post-membership experience.  

  • Demonstrated ability in financial planning and analysis supporting project teams 

  • Advanced Excel skills together with Power BI knowledge preferred 

  • Experience with overseas secondment of labour 

  • Ability to understand, analyse and communicate financial results of the business operations and financial consequences 

  • Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Sound working knowledge of ERP systems 

 

Eligibility 

 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
