About the Opportunity

Due to continuous growth, ASC are seeking multiple experienced Project Coordinators to join our team across various submarine sustainment, LOTE and capability programs. Successful candidates will initially be assigned to one of the programs listed below, with future deployment aligned to organisational priorities and program needs.

ASC’s Sustainment Delivery team manage multiple concurrent projects for the Collins Class Submarine Maintenance Program. You’ll oversee planning, execution, and closeout of major and minor sustainment and capability upgrade projects.

ASC’s LOTE (Life of Type Extension) team are based in Osborne, SA. Responsible for delivering detailed project management and support activities required during all phases of the project lifecycle. Roles are across various areas, such as Engineering Design, Implementation Planning and Support System Implementation.

The Project Coordinator is accountable to the Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager for delivering detailed project management and support activities required during all phases of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Project Coordinator may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, executing and monitoring project activities across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and procurement.
  • Assist in developing project plans that align with ASC’s safety, performance and cost‑effectiveness objectives.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional inputs and maintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Production, Supply Chain, PMO, P&C, Commercial, Procurement and Finance.
  • Develop fit‑for‑purpose scopes of work and manage work packages to ensure delivery in line with contractual requirements.
  • Identify project risks, support mitigation activities and maintain readiness of materials, engineering and planning deliverables.
  • Prepare and collate project reports, supporting regular weekly, monthly and quarterly project reviews.
  • Monitor project performance, analyse variances and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Actively contribute to ASC’s continued development and maintenance of a Submarine Safety Culture.

About you 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline, or equivalent experience in complex engineering, naval construction or asset management environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
  • Practical knowledge of scheduling, Earned Value Management, financial management and stakeholder coordination within complex project environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities and demonstrate sound judgement under pressure.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and organisational interfaces.
  • Highly motivated, resilient and customer‑focused, with a commitment to contributing to a high‑performance project culture.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
