About the Opportunity 

The PMO Assurance Manager is an exciting new leadership opportunity within the ASC Transformation Office, offering the chance to establish and shape a dedicated PMO Assurance capability supporting ASC's strategic transformation agenda. 

Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, governance forums and delivery teams, the role provides independent assurance, governance oversight and delivery confidence assessments across ASC's portfolio of Corporate and Digital Transformation initiatives. The position plays a critical role in ensuring projects and programs are delivered in accordance with organisational standards, governance requirements and strategic objectives while providing objective insights into delivery confidence, risk exposure, project controls and governance effectiveness. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager PMO & Planning located at the Adelaide CBD office, the PMO Assurance Manager will build and lead the PMO Assurance function, including management of the PMO Assurance Lead, while working closely with Transformation leaders, program teams and the embedded PMO service delivery team. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence enterprise-wide delivery outcomes, strengthen governance maturity and drive continuous improvement across ASC's transformation portfolio. 

This opportunity is offered as a full-time, 24-month fixed-term contract 

Responsibilities 

• Manage and deliver independent assurance and governance services across complex Corporate and Digital Transformation programs and projects. 
• Plan and conduct project, program and portfolio assurance reviews, including health checks, delivery confidence assessments, stage-gate reviews, organisational readiness assessments and project recovery reviews 
• Ensure programs and projects align with ASC policies, standards, governance requirements and the Transformation Office Delivery Framework.  
• Build and lead the PMO Assurance capability, including the development of assurance processes, methodologies and team capability within the Transformation Office 
• Assess the effectiveness of project controls including scope, schedule, financial management, risk, issue and dependency management  
• Provide independent assurance reporting, strategic insights and evidence-based recommendations to senior leaders and governance forums to support informed decision-making 
• Review and assure benefits realisation planning, measurement and reporting to support intended business outcomes and strategic value 
• Promote, develop, maintain and continuously improve program and project delivery methodologies, frameworks, standards and assurance processes.  
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external assurance providers and implementation partners across large, complex programs with multiple concurrent workstreams.  

About you 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within PMO, Portfolio Management, Program Management or Assurance environments, including experience supporting large-scale transformation initiatives 
• Qualifications in Project Management, Business, Commerce, Governance, Risk Management or a related discipline, supported by relevant professional certifications such as PMI-PMOCP, PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, P3O or equivalent is highly desirable 
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing PMO assurance capabilities, processes and teams. 
• Demonstrated experience conducting assurance reviews across complex projects, programs or digital transformation initiatives. 
• Experience supporting company wide process transformations, Digital Transformations or Technology-enabled programs 
• Ability to provide objective and constructive challenge to project and program teams while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships 
• Knowledge of benefits management, project controls and portfolio management practices. 
• Proven ability to influence and provide trusted advice to senior executives, sponsors, governance forums and delivery leaders.  
• Experience developing and maintaining project/program methodologies, assurance and delivery frameworks, standards and reporting. 
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, meaningful insights.  
• A proactive, detail-focused and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
