About the Opportunity
This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The Project Manager – Workforce IPT, will work closely with the Workforce IPT team (across both ASC and joint partner BAE Systems) and the broader P&C/HR teams, and is accountable for delivering detailed project management and support activities required during all phases of project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute Project Plan and Schedule for all SSN AUKUS Workforce IPT deliverables.
Set clear, and actionable goals to ensure delivery of the Workforce IPT objectives. Take ownership for driving results through these goals.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for these, including developing programs and initiatives which address concerns proactively.
Ensure alignment with SSN AUKUS program Strategy and assist to meet any relevant contractual deliverables.
Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including project updates, workforce plans, and performance reports.
A degree of flexibility is required in working hours is required to support the engagement with the Joint Partner located in the United Kingdom. This role may also require some periodic interstate or overseas travel.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in a technical, business or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a complex program environment.
Professional certifications / memberships in AIPM
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a complex project environment at a Project Manager level (or equivalent), including at least five years demonstrated success in leading complex projects or portfolios.
Demonstrated project management or workforce planning experience in strategic planning within a complex environment, preferably in defence.
Exceptional customer service and written and verbal communication skills, and excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate individuals and teams across several business areas, to shape outcomes and implement program requirements.
Demonstrated capability to navigate through complexity and ambiguity.
An ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
