About the Opportunity

This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Project Scheduler to join our team in Osborne, SA. This position provides project level scheduling support throughout the project lifecycle to the assigned project team(s) by providing detailed expert technical scheduling administration, advice, monitoring and support.

This role is a conduit between all areas of the business, interpreting project needs and in turn developing and maintaining executable project schedules which are aligned with resource availability, system dependencies, budget and milestones/timelines as defined by the Project Manager. The fundamental purpose of this role is to develop and maintain accurate executable project schedules which enable the safe and successful planning and execution of the SSN AUKUS Build program on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Working in an experienced team of project delivery professionals, responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Review, plan and schedule whole submarine maintenance activities.
  • Understand and document the sequence of works, relationships, durations and resource requirements.
  • Develop project schedules including the identification and verification of critical path.
  • Monitor and control all activities through the planning and execution of activities.
  • Update activity information and status based on information from various sources.
  • Re-scheduling of activities in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Communication of trends to the Project Manager and Project Team.
  • Detailed schedule analysis for relevant stakeholders.

About you 

Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated project planning and scheduling experience within a complex project environment, preferably in Defence, Shipbuilding and/or heavy engineering industries together with:

  • Proven experience working as a Project Scheduler in a complex project environment and with large volume schedules.
  • Advanced skills in Primavera P6 or other scheduling software
  • Minimum intermediate-level Excel skills, especially in handling and transforming data.
  • Understanding of project management principles and lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A high-level of integrity and resilience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) (desirable).

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
