About the Opportunity

This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. Reporting to the head of Corporate Communications & Media, the Senior Communications Advisor will be responsible for high quality communication outcomes and services to build, protect and enhance ASC’s brand and reputation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute external communications for ASC’s SSN AUKUS Build program.
  • Manage and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Produce high quality content for corporate documentation, internal communication, traditional media, and digital media.
  • Ensures that all communications meet brand guidelines, uphold ASC’s reputation in the market and meet industry expectations and best practices. 
  • Deliver best-in-class communication outcomes across multiple internal and external channels.
  • Identifies potential risks to ASC and the AUKUS program and develops mitigation strategies to address these concerns proactively.
  • Effectively manage, track, and report as necessary to ensure the optimised allocation of resources. 
  • Assist in delivering events and site visits 

Please note: Availability for collaboration calls outside normal working hours (UK timezone) is required. Periodic domestic and international travel may also be required on an ad hoc basis.

 

About you 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Marketing, Media or Communications role.
  • High level of internal and external communication experience. 
  • Experience generating both traditional/earned and digital/social media in marketing and communication operations. 
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic and tactical advice for internal and external communications.
  • A well-established network of media contacts across multiple mediums. 
  • Demonstrated experience working across integrated teams or matrix style organisations.
  • Ability to always act professionally and impartially; and operate within the boundaries of organisational processes and legal and public policy constraints. 

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
