About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Corporate Finance Team. Reporting to the Manager Accounting Services, this role is responsible for all financial aspects of ASC’s property, plant and equipment and lease asset accounting, including the development, design and implementation of policies and practices to ensure compliance with best practices and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for achieving excellence in capital asset and lease management in line with strategic objectives.
  • Manage the day-to-day capital asset management activities.
  • Lead the capital asset and lease expenditure budget process as part of the ASC Group Corporate Plan
  • Provide appropriate advice and guidance on leasing standards and processes for effectively managing ASC’s range of leased assets.
  • Coordinate the provision of responsive and expert financial advice to internal customers.
  • Contribute to new initiatives and provide input to develop and improve financial practices and processes
  • Undertake a range of financial accounting and reporting activities such as periodic asset reviews, forecasting, and spend reports.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations of key financial balances and transaction accounts.

About you 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce or Accounting.
  • Full membership in CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ or equivalent accounting qualification with significant post-membership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and corporate statutory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in similar role in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Experience understanding the needs of the business, to enable financial reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Excellent attention to detail, high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
