About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leads this position has problem solving challenges including the ability to accurately interpret complex work scopes, submarine systems and implement the task as outlined in the work pack and complete the work pack in accordance with CMS Process. Conducting work on a Collins Class Submarine has several challenges, confined space, incompatible operations and difficult working positions all of which need careful attention to detail when conducting tasks.

 

Responsibilities

This permanent position consists of the following major work components including: 

  1. Installation, refurbishment, planned maintenance, set to work and defect rectification of the Collins Class Submarines and the associated submarine systems.
  2. Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of trade and boat team leaders.
  3. Delivery of completed work packs to the appropriate trade team leader to support implementation and project close out in accordance with the “End to End” process.

To be considered for this permanent opportunity you must ideally display the following competencies:

  • WA Electrical A Class Licence.
  • Electrical trade certificate along with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Sound communication skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Previous experience in shipbuilding, defence or heavy engineering (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in accurately interpret complex work scopes and implement the task as outlined in work packs.
  • Experience with working in restricted areas and confined spaces.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
