About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power Platform Developer to oversee the development and execution of our organisation's workplace automation strategy, leveraging the capabilities of the Microsoft Power Platform. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of our digital workplace by leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge automation solutions tailored to the unique needs of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

As a senior member of the team, the Senior Power Platform Developer (ASC position title: Senior Automation Developer) will take on responsibilities for leading the development of innovative solutions and overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Solution Development: Lead the development and implementation of customised solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform to optimise workplace automation. This includes designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications that meet the specific needs of the organisation. The role requires a deep understanding of the Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate to create seamless integrations and workflows that enhance productivity.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Digital Product Manager to define and execute the workplace automation strategy. This involves setting goals, developing plans, and ensuring alignment with broader organisational objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and drive the adoption of innovative technologies.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure that all developed solutions adhere to best practice security principles to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with defence industry standards. This includes conducting security assessments, implementing necessary safeguards, and staying updated on the latest security protocols and threats.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced developers within the team. This involves offering expertise, advice, and support to help them develop their skills and succeed in their roles. The senior developer will lead by example, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in the Microsoft Power Platform and other relevant technologies to continuously improve the automation processes. This includes researching new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency, and experimenting with cutting-edge solutions to keep the organisation at the forefront of digital innovation.
  • Early Adoption Participation: Actively participate in the early stages of the adoption process of the Microsoft Power Platform, identifying areas for improvement and innovation. This involves testing new features, providing feedback, and helping to shape our adoption of new platform features to better suit the needs of the organisation.
  • Solution Assessment: Conduct regular reviews and assessments of automation solutions to ensure they meet the strategic goals of the organisation. This includes evaluating performance, identifying issues, and making necessary adjustments to optimise outcomes. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand their automation needs and develop solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency. This includes gathering requirements, identifying opportunities, and delivering solutions that meet their expectations. The successful candidate will build strong relationships across the organisation to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

 About You: 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing enterprise grade solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practice security principles for solution development within the Power Platform.
  • Strong understanding of workplace automation strategies and technologies.
  • Microsoft certifications such as:
    • Power Platform Fundamentals
    • Power Platform App Maker Associate
    • Power Automate RPA Developer Associate
    • Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in the defence sector is highly desirable.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
