About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Program Manager, and working closely with the Transformation Office Leadership Team, the Senior Project Manager is accountable for delivering all project management and support activities required during all phases of the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, implementation and closeout of major projects within the Transformation Portfolio.
- Deliver all project management activities across the full project lifecycle from Project execution to the end of project closeout.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Workstream Leads to ensure successful project delivery.
- Drive alignment and collaboration across workstreams, functional teams, corporate departments and key stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support effective decision-making and project outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with the Transformation Office Leadership Team while exercising sound judgement and autonomy in project delivery.
- Make informed decisions that balance project-specific requirements with broader organisational priorities and outcomes.
- Monitor and manage project performance to ensure delivery against agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality targets.
- Promote and embed project delivery best practices, governance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to capability development across the Program Team through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Foster a high-performance project environment that supports successful delivery of strategic transformation initiatives.
About you
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a complex project environment, including demonstrated experience delivering a full, organizational wide system implementation project.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering significant system implementation projects within a highly regulated security environment.
- Demonstrated experience operationalizing fit-for-purpose project management governance and processes, contextualized to the nature of transformation programs.
- Proficient in project delivery best practice across scheduling, earned value, risk, quality, stakeholder and personnel management as applicable to a complex project environment
- Demonstrated experience in utilisation of project management tools (e.g. Jira, MS Project).
- Experience in developing project management capability across the team, including discipline in delivery and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary staff and cross-functional teams including negotiation/persuasion skills and managing stakeholder expectations to embed lasting change.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the deliverables of contractors and implementation partners in a way that achieves best for business outcomes.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
