ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. About the Opportunity

Join the SSN AUKUS Build Program as a Solution Architect, where you’ll define and communicate a shared information systems and technical architectural vision across the program’s ICT solution acquisition and implementations. You’ll lead and align stakeholders across multiple business streams and projects, ensuring the delivery of scalable, adaptable, and value-driven solutions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Translate business strategy into solution architecture
  • Lead and oversee solution design, analysis, and delivery
  • Partner with architects across data, integration, infrastructure, and cloud domains
  • Support project managers in developing practical IT project plans
  • Participate in review boards to evaluate architectural fit
  • Provide consulting advice and support business case development
  • Contribute to IT roadmaps and information systems strategy
  • Monitor solution implementation and alignment with architectural principles
  • Maintain solution models and provide feedback to the architecture practice
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, EEO, and diversity policies

Please note: Availability for collaboration calls outside normal working hours (UK timezone) is required. Periodic domestic and international travel may also be required on an ad hoc basis.

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
  • 8+ years in ICT solution development (applications, integrations, middleware)
  • 3+ years as a Solution Architect
  • Experience in advanced engineering/manufacturing environments (PLM platforms desirable)
  • Experience in Defence (desirable)
  • Strong ability to lead sustainable process and behavioural change
  • Skilled in gathering and translating complex requirements
  • Effective communicator with non-technical stakeholders
  • High-level understanding of enterprise architecture and capability development

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
