About the Opportunity

We're seeking a detail-driven Surveillance Supplier Officer to support ASC’s SUBSAFE Surveillance Program. Reporting to the Surveillance Manager, this role is responsible for conducting supplier surveillance, assessments and audits to ensure materials, components and services procured into the submarine SUBSAFE boundary meet stringent technical, traceability and compliance requirements.

Working across ASC's supply chain, you will provide independent assurance that suppliers are meeting SUBSAFE obligations, validating documentation integrity, material traceability and quality requirements. You will identify risks, drive corrective actions and support the delivery of safe, compliant and certifiable submarine outcomes within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier surveillance, audits and assessments to verify compliance with SUBSAFE, NAVSEA and technical requirements.
• Review and validate material certification, traceability records and supporting documentation to ensure compliance and evidence integrity.
• Identify, investigate and report supplier non-conformances, supporting corrective and preventive action activities.
• Monitor supplier performance and compliance trends, providing assurance reporting and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support supplier capability uplift through guidance, coaching and the communication of SUBSAFE requirements and expectations.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Operations teams to proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Maintain accurate audit records, compliance evidence and surveillance documentation in accordance with governance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen supplier quality, compliance and assurance outcomes.

About You

This is a unique opportunity to work across engineering, quality and supplier networks, contributing directly to one of Australia's most critical maritime capabilities. You should bring: 

• Qualifications or trade background in engineering, quality, supply chain or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in supplier quality, auditing, surveillance or compliance within defence, maritime, manufacturing or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, technical documentation, traceability and assurance requirements.
• Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions and compliance verification activities.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, investigate issues and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build productive working relationships.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to governance, compliance and documentation integrity.
• Auditor qualifications and experience working in submarine, defence or other safety-critical environments will be highly regarded.
• Ability to operate independently in a high-accountability environment where quality, traceability and assurance outcomes are critical.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
