ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

Are you a strategic supply chain leader with a passion for governance, stakeholder engagement, and building high‑performing teams? We’re looking for an experienced Supply Chain Governance Manager to lead the uplift of governance, risk, and assurance across our organisation and play a pivotal role in shaping our growing supply chain capabilities.

In this critical leadership role, you’ll be responsible for establishing and embedding a strong governance framework across our supply chain function. You will lead a team focused on driving compliance, improving processes, conducting contract and supplier management audits, and ensuring our business adheres to high standards of operational discipline. As a key partner to executive and program stakeholders, you’ll bring a service‑led mindset to the way governance is delivered—enabling the business, rather than policing it.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance

  • Provide hands-on leadership and clear direction to the Supply Chain Governance team.
  • Stand up, maintain, and continually uplift the supply chain governance and risk framework.
  • Drive a culture of service excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement within the team.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong, trusted relationships across program, commercial, technical, and operational teams.
  • Act as a central point of contact for internal and external audits relating to supply chain activities.
  • Influence leaders and decision-makers to adopt strong governance practices.

Governance & Risk Uplift

  • Lead the development, rollout, and monitoring of supply chain governance processes and controls.
  • Manage supply chain risks, ensuring proactive identification, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Oversee and coordinate contract management and compliance audits.

Supplier Qualification Program

  • Develop and manage the supplier qualification framework and ensure supplier capability is assessed effectively.
  • Oversee the supplier catalogue, ensuring data accuracy and enabling the business to easily identify qualified and capable partners.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps and opportunities to uplift governance, risk, and compliance practices.
  • Collaborate with wider supply chain leadership to enhance processes, systems, and reporting.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, supply chain, or related discipline.
  • Strong experience in supply chain governance, compliance, or oversight roles.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • A service leadership mindset—balancing business enablement with robust governance.
  • Experience in implementing or uplifting governance frameworks and risk management processes.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations, supplier management, and contract compliance.
  • An influential leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for building governance capability.
  • Highly developed communication and customer relations skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
