About the Opportunity:

We are seeking two Systems Administrators to join our organisation’s Modern Digital Workplace team. These positions will focus on the core components of Microsoft 365, with one role specifically concentrating on Exchange Online administration and the other on SharePoint Online and Teams administration. Both positions will report to the Digital Product Manager.

As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of our Modern Digital Workplace. This includes monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, applying updates and patches, managing user accounts and permissions. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our digital layer, providing technical support to end-users and contributing to the planning and implementation of IT projects.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Systems Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Configuration and Maintenance: Manage and configure Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring optimal performance and consistency across the organisation.
  • System Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
  • Updates and Patches: Apply updates and patches to Microsoft 365 applications, minimising disruption to business operations and ensuring software security.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data, adhering to national and organisational standards.
  • User Account Management: Administer user accounts and permissions, ensuring efficient access and security protocols are followed.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues and optimizing their use of Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and security protocols to ensure consistency and continuity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to support seamless integration and enhance user experience.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to the Modern Digital Workplace, offering insights and recommendations based on expertise in Microsoft 365.
  • Training and Support: Provide effective training and support to end-users, addressing their concerns and enhancing their proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.

 

 

About You: 

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 core components, with a primary focus on either Exchange Online or SharePoint Online and Teams.
  • Experience in a systems administration role within a high-security environment, preferably in defence or a related sector.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing security policies and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide effective user support and training.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications, such as:
    • Messaging Administrator Associate (for Exchange Online)
    • Teamwork Administrator Associate (for SharePoint Online and Teams)
    • Azure Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate
    • Teams Administrator Associate

 

Eligibility:

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
