ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

This role manages hybrid infrastructure across on premises and cloud environments, supporting the stability, security and performance of ASC’s core systems. You will play a central role in maintaining and improving this environment across multiple sites, focusing on system reliability, compliance and technical leadership in Microsoft Server, virtualisation, storage and enterprise applications. You will work with IT and cyber teams to strengthen resilience, contribute to strategic uplift and support daily operational needs.

Applications are welcome from candidates based in WA or SA.

Responsibilities

  • Support and administer Microsoft Server technologies, Active Directory and virtualised infrastructure.
  • Operate and secure hybrid environments including Azure and Intune.
  • Lead patching, upgrades and planned outages within IT change processes.
  • Manage monitoring, logging and alerting across environments.
  • Support cyber security controls and participate in investigations when required.
  • Maintain documentation, policies and process compliance.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve complex issues.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration across production Microsoft domains.
  • Strong technical capability across cloud, hybrid and virtualisation platforms.
  • Skilled in diagnosing issues and responding to high‑impact incidents.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities with clear communication.
  • Experienced in cyber risk identification and secure system operations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Organised, adaptable and focused on continuous improvement.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.

To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.
