ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Senior Curriculum Developer, the Training Developer is responsible for the analysis, design, and development of training products. This role is also responsible for
researching and advising on appropriate technologies for delivering content, identifying any security, ethical and legal considerations and the feasibility of the recommended
approach.
Working as part of the Follow On Training Department, and supported by the Navy’s learning design team, this role is responsible for the analysis, design and development of learning initiatives to increase capability, drive high performance and improve culture across the business. This includes developing training materials to ensure trainees are safe, confident and proficient with their role responsibilities and that compliance, regulatory, safety, organisational and other obligations are met.
The Training Developer plays an integral role in the successful development and implementation of contemporary learning and development practices and solutions to support the skill and competency development needs of the customer. With superior skills in communication, instructional design and a strong customer focus, the incumbent will have proven success working in a technical organisation.
The incumbent will contribute to a positive people culture that values continuous improvement and develops new processes and procedures in line with the Company’s focus on ‘Lean’ thinking.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) and/or Diploma of Training Design and Development
· (TAE50216), equivalent, or minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience in Learning Design or closely related field.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Practiced Instructional Designer with expertise in developing and designing learning programs in corporate or
· operational environments. Experience working in a national, multi-site technical organization would be
· advantageous along with the ability to communicate across a broad customer base. Previous experience working
· within the Systems Approach to Defence Learning would be beneficial.
· The ability to understand learning needs and develop tailored, flexible solutions for face to face, eLearning or
· other delivery techniques to effectively meet the needs of the customer. Experienced at developing
· communication tools, programs and guides to support trainees and instructors through learning programs.
· Proficient user of Microsoft office.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
