About the Opportunity

As an Assistant Project Manager, based in Henderson WA you will support the Project Manager in delivering detailed project management and support activities required during all phases of the project lifecycle. This includes managing the planning, execution, and closeout of elements of major projects or managing minor projects within the Sub Sustainment Nuclear (SSN) Program.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and maintain performance baselines, measure work progress, analyse variances, and develop corrective actions.
  • Conduct project risk and opportunity reviews, developing and managing mitigation and realisation strategies.
  • Liaise daily with ASC functional departments and capabilities.
  • Prepare and collate reports in accordance with project requirements and coordinate project reviews.
  • Manage and supervise assigned Project Coordinators & Project Administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical requirements, and instigate corrective actions as needed.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all project-related activities, liaising with relevant stakeholders.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline or equivalent experience.
  • High-level understanding of the Defence Industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Practical knowledge of Scheduling, Earned Value Management, financial, stakeholder, and personnel management.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a complex project environment.
  • Membership of AIPM or equivalent (desirable).

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
