About the Opportunity

Reporting to Procurement Manager, this position supports the execution and management of procurement activities. You will develop, deliver and support sourcing, subcontract management and purchasing activities through proactive engagement with key Procurement team members, business stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes. The role is based in Henderson, WA.

Supporting the engagement of key suppliers through contracting and procurement activity including defining sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, coordinate contracting and procurement activities to ensure value for money and delivery on time, managing subcontractor risk. The position is also responsible for leading the management of vendor furnished information including processing, expediting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Activities including development of category plans, sourcing strategies, tender management and evaluation, and contract negotiation.
  • Contract management, including leading contract review meetings, monitoring key performance indicators and spend management activities.
  • Development of strong supplier relationships to drive high quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Identification and implementation of risk management strategies to manage subcontractor risk and ensure supply chain resilience.

About you 

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing or resource environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively establish and manage contracts with track record of delivering business value.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to manage Procurement projects to agreed timelines and budget restraints.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices
  • Negotiation skills for use in contract development and management
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and management of risk
  • Understanding of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development
  • Commercial acumen

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
