About the Opportunity

As a Commercial Analyst within ASC's Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will play a key role in supporting business performance through the delivery of high-quality financial analysis, modelling, forecasting and reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager – FP&A and stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide timely and actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to ASC's corporate financial planning processes, including the development of the Annual Corporate Plan, annual budgets and ongoing forecasts. You'll build and maintain financial models, analyse complex data sets, identify emerging trends, and provide meaningful recommendations that enable leaders to make informed commercial decisions.

Partnering with stakeholders across corporate and business unit functions, you will help drive financial performance, improve reporting capabilities, and support best-practice budgeting and forecasting processes. Your ability to translate financial information into clear business insights will be critical in helping ASC achieve its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, consolidation and delivery of ASC's Strategic & Corporate Plan, annual budgets and forecasting processes.
• Develop and maintain financial models, planning tools and scenario analyses to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
• Partner with Finance, PMOs and business stakeholders to provide financial insights and support planning activities across multiple programs.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial analysis, reports, presentations and briefing materials for a range of stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of financial targets, performance measures and KPIs aligned with organisational priorities.
• Support capital budgeting, investment planning and governance activities, including the evaluation of business cases and investment opportunities.
• Leverage ERP systems and analytical tools to enhance financial planning, reporting and decision-support capabilities.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities that strengthen FP&A processes, financial governance and business outcomes.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical capability and a passion for turning complex data into meaningful business insights. You will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, building effective relationships across the business, and contributing to both team and organisational outcomes.

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualifications (or progress towards obtaining them) will be highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and corporate reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, modelling and performance reporting, with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and commercial acumen.
• Experience using financial and business systems, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and exposure to tools such as Power BI, R, or similar analytical platforms.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across a diverse organisation.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
