About the Opportunity

ASC is seeking multiple Electrical Designers / Drafters across all seniority levels to join our Platform Design team in support of key programs. In these roles you will apply your electrical expertise to deliver high-quality design and drafting solutions to support the integration of new and updated designs across a wide range of submarine systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical design and drafting tasks to agreed program commitments.
• Ensure engineering outputs comply with ASC processes and industry standards.
• Produce high quality electrical outputs such as cable block diagrams, schematics, termination diagrams, cable installation schedules, panel layouts/arrangements and parts/equipment lists.
• Assist with selection of electrical components suitable for design, installation and manufacture.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions.
• Provide regular task updates, escalating blockages and ensuring alignment with project priorities and objectives.
• Seek better ways of working, that drive improvement in relation to program cost, schedule and quality.

About you 

• Experience as an Electrical Designer/Drafter supporting the delivery of engineering solutions
• Electrical Trade experience/qualification is highly regarded. 
• Experience in design and integration of electrical systems, including preparation of production level drawings and documentation.
• Experience in AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings is favourable (training provided)
• Exposure to control panel / switchboard design
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Adaptability to manage multiple design activities concurrently whilst still delivering work on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of configuration systems and the role of configuration management in the design process.
• A tertiary qualification e.g. Diploma/Advanced Diploma in a related Engineering discipline is desirable.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
