About the Opportunity
We are recruiting Emergency Response Officers in Osborne, South Australia to join our 24/7 Emergency Response Team. This is your chance to get away from FIFO; this frontline position plays a critical role in maintaining ASC’s emergency readiness, supporting high‑risk operational environments, and ensuring the safety of our people and assets.
As an Emergency Response Officer, you will maintain a strong presence across site operations, actively engage with stakeholders, contribute to hazard identification and prevention activities, and be ready to respond to emergency events at any time. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility operational role that combines readiness, risk control, teamwork, and rapid incident response.
Key responsibilities include:
• Responding to emergency situations and providing rapid on‑site support
• Conducting hazard identification, containment, and incident control activities
• Maintaining emergency equipment and ensuring operational preparedness
• Supporting WHSE compliance, reporting, and investigations
• Planning, leading and participating in emergency drills and continuous improvement activities
• Working collaboratively with a dedicated, high‑performing emergency response team
• Develop and deliver emergency response related training and skill development
Roster & Work Environment
• 2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Days Off (continuous rotational roster)
• Average 42‑hour week across the cycle
• Dynamic, hands‑on environment requiring physical capability, risk awareness, and professionalism
• Visible, on‑the‑ground presence across ASC’s operational areas
About You
The ideal candidate will bring operational emergency response experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain composed during critical incidents.
• Solutions‑focused, collaborative, and capable of engaging confidently with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in emergency response, firefighting, mine rescue, defence, or similar operational fields
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• The ability to remain calm, objective, and reliable during emergencies
• High levels of situational awareness, professionalism, and personal integrity
• A readiness mindset and willingness to work within a structured 24/7 rotational shift model

Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
