About the Opportunity

The Facilities Specialist will lead the planning and delivery of facilities management across diverse non‑production sites, ensuring safe, compliant and future‑ready workplaces that support critical programs. This role, based in Adelaide, SA drives operational readiness through smart spatial planning, asset and maintenance systems, and close collaboration with stakeholders and service providers. Play a key part in supporting facility upgrades and partnering with BAE Systems to enable the SSN‑AUKUS Build Program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, governance and delivery of facilities management services across all non‑production office sites.
  • Establish and maintain facilities frameworks, systems and processes to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
  • Align facilities capability with workforce growth, business priorities and SSN‑AUKUS program milestones.
  • Establish and manage asset maintenance agreements, schedules and registers to meet statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Provide oversight of contracted service providers, including performance management against SLAs and issue resolution.
  • Ensure facilities comply with safety and regulatory standards, supporting audits and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and optimise office space utilisation, coordinating and manage workplace layouts and improvements to support workforce needs and wellbeing.

About you

  • Qualifications in Facilities Management, Project Management, Operations, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities management, operations, or asset management, preferably across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of non‑production office facilities, building services, and statutory, regulatory, and organisational compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance scheduling, contractor and vendor management, and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Proven capability in establishing, governing, and managing facilities management arrangements, including service providers and maintenance agreements.
  • Proficiency in facilities management systems (CMMS / IWMS) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Organisational Skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines efficiently.

A degree of flexibility is required in working hours, to support engagements with colleagues in other time zones. This role may also require periodic or regular overseas travel.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1). Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
