ASC is Australia’s Submarine Company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension (LOTE) to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history. 

 

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Infrastructure Program Manager, the Infrastructure Project Manager – Planning & Scheduling is responsible for managing infrastructure planning, scheduling and project delivery activities across ASC’s South Australian and Western Australian sites. This role supports the successful execution of the Facilities and Infrastructure Master Program (FIMP), 2 year and 5-year infrastructure plans and other infrastructure projects.

 

This role will work across various programs of work within our Multi Class Sustainment team and is critical to the successful delivery of ASC’s Facilities and FIMP and contributes directly to the enhancement of national naval capability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development of the FIMP, ensuring accurate forward planning and prioritisation of projects in line with CAPEX periods;
  • Managing ongoing maintenance of the FIMP schedule and supporting artefacts,  including stakeholder collaboration to ensure accurate alignment of project data, project status updates, baseline management and development of reports.
  • Planning and execution of FIMP improvement projects in accordance with the FIMP management framework and development roadmap.
  • Supporting the development of business cases and contributing to ASC’s corporate capital planning process, including support to the development of the 2 and 5-year infrastructure plans.
  • Contributing to the development of related Infrastructure delivery project plans and schedules
  • Supporting  the development and improvement of Infrastructure project delivery processes, templates and reporting practices in line with ASC governance frameworks and PMO standards.
  • Assist to foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and modern, digitally‑enabled ways of working
  • Project Management, planning, execution and delivery of assigned Infrastructure CAPEX projects as required.

 

About you 

  • Demonstrated experience in project management and delivery in infrastructure, complex, or highly regulated environments;
  • Strong background in project planning and scheduling, governance, EVM, reporting, stakeholder and risk management;
  • Advanced skills in Primavera P6 with experience training and or mentoring others in its use;
  • Ability to manage large and complex datasets in a dynamic and changing environment;
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisation skills, ability to work autonomously;
  • Agility and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen events while maintaining delivery focus.

 

 Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
