About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Planning & Reporting Accountant to join the SSN AUKUS Program Finance Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing accurate and timely financial and project cost information to all stakeholders. You will also offer strategic financial advice and value-added financial services, ensuring the success of our business operations.
Responsibilities
• Set up and manage reporting for the Business Unit.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with accounting standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare internal and external reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
• Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes by partnering with business units.
• Perform detailed analysis of financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop financial models to support business cases, strategic initiatives, and scenario planning.
• Ensure compliance with all Finance Compliance requirements, both external and internal.
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA qualification desirable).
• 3+ years of experience in financial planning, reporting, or audit.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/GAAP).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., IFS and Power BI).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, financial planning, and analysis.
• Good communicator with excellent time management skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Sound working knowledge of ERP systems.
• High level of integrity and respect.
• Flexible and adaptable.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
