About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Freight Coordinator- the Freight Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of material and goods between our sites in SA and WA and to / from our suppliers. Working closely with freight & warehouse personnel and other internal and external stakeholders to facilitate an efficient logistics operation to support planned and unplanned maintenance activities and submarine capability development are critical to the role.  This requires long term planning and exceptional stakeholder management to coordinate inputs from a range of internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full-time one-year contract opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and book cargo with freight shipping and airline companies to coordinate and manage the import and export of materials / goods
  • Ensure that all freight activities are undertaken in an ethical, efficient, and effective manner that complies with Australian Border Force compliance and Chain of responsibility legislation.
  • Ensure full compliance to any relevant regulations for customs clearance and shipment
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders, customs agents, shipping companies, freight services and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials / goods
  • Manage documentation flow, this includes packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin and licences.
  • Maintain records of all shipments and freight to track status, cost and both National and International requirements.
  • Track shipments, provide updates where required and resolve any issues that arise during the freight / shipping processes.
  • Out of hours work / on call work.

 

About you 

  • Qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related experience
  • Demonstrated experience across Logistics Coordinator role with a focus on import and export
  • Proven knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures and an understanding of international documentation requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple conflicting tasks, whilst maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Strong communicational and collaboration skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools as well as Microsoft suite

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
