About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Communications Manager- Corporate, the Graphic Designer works within the Corporate Affairs Team to deliver high-quality graphic design services to produce communications and marketing material for ASC’s internal and external communications purposes.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the planning and delivery of graphic design in line with ASC’s visual identity across multiple channels, including ASC’s website, intranet and social media, and is responsible for providing expert advice to key stakeholders to influence internal and external strategic communications directions.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the Corporate Affairs Team members, Internal & External Communications teams and other ASC staff, and external agencies to produce a wide array of graphic design products for the organisation. You will obtain briefs from internal ‘customers’ and manage the work from concept through to a successful conclusion.  In doing so, you will ensure that customer expectations are met, and all products meet organisational standards and brand guidelines.

You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining internal repositories of design work and create photography and video content.

This is a full-time 12-month contract opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality visual materials with high attention to detail design elements for electronic documents, ASC’s web site, and a broad range of printed media.
  • Provide strategic advice, high-quality design and creative skills and services across a broad range of mediums, style and media for key stakeholder groups to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Manage and coordinate design projects from their inception to completion, including initial concept developments, scheduling and ongoing quality assurance.
  • Film, photograph and edit digital content for various channels including social media, communications, digital marketing, engagement, EDM’s and website.
  • Capture photography, and film and edit video content for different target audiences across ASC’s website and socials that showcases our people, mission and brand.
  • Create and manage visual communications within the business, including digital client presentations, signage and event invitations, advertising campaigns, portfolio presentations, reports, infographics, posters and brochures.
  • Provide direction for ASC’s photographic and videography requirements, including feedback on initial briefs, and at times procuring and working with external photographers and videographers on location.

 

About you 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in graphic design, media, communications or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality visual materials at industry standard with high attention to detail design elements for electronic document, web sites, and a broad range of printed media.
  • Extensive experience in the use of Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, etc.) on Mac and/or PC platforms for graphic design deliverables.
  • Experience in the use of front-end web design and layout tools, such as Adobe DreamWeaver and familiarity with core front-end web coding technologies (HTML, CSS).
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of web-based content management systems (CM’s) to publish content for web sites, and maintaining relevant graphic design skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within a corporate identity framework, including the creation of new concepts and design templates and the implementation of existing templates.
  • Experience in the development of animations and videos, editing and capturing photography.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, in order to service internal customers at ASC.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritise accordingly.
  • Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
