About the Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager Program Delivery, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering ASC’s contracted submarine Maintenance Availabilities and readiness activities.
The position will initially focus on achieving Initial Operating Service (IOS) for SRF-West in Western Australia, ensuring readiness for the first visiting nuclear-powered submarines and establishing the systems, tools, and workforce required to support Australia’s future Virginia Class Submarines (VCS).
As Head of Delivery, you will lead the safe, on-time, and on-budget execution of complex, high-value programs. Your mandate is to drive consistent and reliable performance, effectively manage risk, and build strong internal and external stakeholder trust.
You’ll play a critical role in mobilising and shaping the SSN Sustainment program, embedding best-practice project management methodologies (aligned to the PMO), and evolving the function as the program matures.
Leading a high-performing team, you will provide clear direction, set challenging but achievable targets, and foster a culture of accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.
This is a senior role with end-to-end accountability for programs exceeding $60M, requiring the ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently within a dynamic program environment.
About you
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
