About the Opportunity

ASC have an opportunity for a Senior Technical Officer to join our Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) department based in Henderson, WA. This unique opportunity will allow you to utilise your skills and expertise in an environment that will directly contribute to the sustainment of Australia’s frontline naval capabilities.

Reporting to the ILS Team Lead, this full time position will provide technical framework, expertise, and ILS capability in order to maintain the Collins Class submarine.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform Maintenance Task Analysis for the Update and upkeep of the maintenance instructions,
  • Update and upkeep Technical documentation,
  • Maintain the Configuration Baseline by applying systems knowledge and experience to ensure effective use and optimisation of various ILS related systems and tools,
  • Support technical task governance and process management,
  • Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders on issues related to assigned work,
  • A strong focus on developing and leading continuous improvement activities within your team.

 

About you 

In addition to communication skills, a demonstrated ability to provide technical capability to a team or group, our successful Senior Technical Officer will possess:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated ability to work through complex problems in a logical and ordered fashion, taking into account corporate as well as customer needs in determining the most appropriate way ahead.
  • Experience in the interpretation of drawings and schematics,
  • Ability to gather, manipulate and analyse data to provide insight
  • Technical qualification(s) in a relevant Engineering/Trade discipline,
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a complex technical environment,
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex issues both verbally and written,
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish positive working relationships within the team,

 

Desirable:

  • Technical knowledge of relevant submarine platform systems
  • An understanding of Configuration Management and Asset Management principles
  • Defence background
  • Use of maintenance management tools, such as SAP, ERP, IFS, SIMS
  • competent in the use of Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Power BI)

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
