The Nuclear Governance and Controls Manager is required to work in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. This role is responsible for leading the engagement of multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure success through the various phases of the government’s nuclear powered, conventionally armed submarine “Optimal Pathway”. Establishing ASC’s nuclear governance framework will be a key focus. Ensuring compliance with safety, safeguards, and security throughout the project lifecycle is a complex challenge that requires adaptability and tenacity in a highly regulated environment.
The development of a nuclear mindset within ASC is an essential and ongoing effort. The NGCM is a required to ensure a dedication to excellence and an unwavering commitment to safety, security, and safeguards across the organization.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate/Post Graduate qualifications in Engineering or applicable subject
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· 5+ years’ experience in management or regulatory affairs of nuclear or other highly regulated industry;
· Specific experience within nuclear regulation, code of practice and guidance interpretation will be highly regarded;
· Experience managing inter-organizational stakeholders will be highly regarded;
· Experience coordinating with a team of technical personnel in complex and changing environments.
· Ability to hold and maintain an Australian NEGATIVE VETTING Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance;
· Knowledge of systems engineering and ‘requirements management’ principles.
· Proficiency managing regulatory documentation and maintaining compliance records

***This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline/NV1/NV2 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
