About the Opportunity

We are seeking a versatile and safety-focused Operator to join our team in Henderson. This role requires a multi-skilled operator capable of performing rigging, scaffolding, and operating cranes and forklifts in a high-paced industrial environment.

The skill set must be aligned with the requirements to support the Operations Department in providing a high level of service to the CCSM program.

The Operator is responsible for conducting work in accordance with the Operations Departments Process and Procedures.

Conducting work on a Collins Class Submarine has several challenges - confined space, incompatible operations, and difficult working positions all of which need careful attention to detail when conducting tasks.

 

Responsibilities

  • Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of trade and boat team leaders.
  • Delivery of completed work packs to the appropriate trade team leader to support implementation and project close out in accordance with the “End to End” process.

This position has problem solving and challenges including the ability to accurately interpret complex work scope and implement the task as outlined in the work pack and complete the work pack in accordance with CMS Process.

This position consists of the following major work components including:

  • Operator duties on-board CCSM, Workshop and with Confined Spaces with the following qualifications and experience: Forklift, Overhead Crane, Mobile Crane, Dogging, Advance Rigging in confined spaces, Rigging equipment test and tag.
  • Ability to work in restricted confine space.
  • Advanced Rigging Techniques.
  • Experienced Hot Work and Confined space permit control procedures.
  • Work within a team environment.
  • Work to high standards.
  • Work IAW pay classification.
  • Working at Heights.

 

About you

Candidates require high integrity due to the high risk work. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High Risk Work license
  • Forklift License
  • Advance Rigging HRWL
  • Dogging HRWL
  • Over Head Crane
  • Confined Space
  • Working at heights

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 Years Advanced Rigging experience preferred high risk or defense.
  • Dogging experience.
  • Overhead gantry experience.
  • Rigging equipment test and tag.
  • Working at Heights.
  • Confined Space and restricted advance Rigging techniques.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
