About the Opportunity

This brand new role is responsible for delivering high-level administrative support and coordination to the Sub Sustainment Nuclear (SSN) Program Delivery Lead Team. The position plays a critical role in managing schedules, reporting, stakeholder engagement, customer visits, meetings, and coordinating both domestic and international travel for the department.

You will support the SSN Sustainment leadership team by streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency across the portfolio. Key responsibilities include analysing and collating information, managing day-to-day administrative functions, and ensuring effective communication and coordination.

This role involves regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Management, Board Members, senior customer representatives, and members of the public. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment. They will bring extensive experience in high-level administration, supporting senior leaders and business units.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a daily liaison with ASC functional departments, including Engineering, Quality, Planning, Production, Supply Chain, PMO, People & Culture, Commercial, Procurement, and Finance.
  • Coordinate the development of fit-for-purpose scopes of work and support the delivery of work packages in line with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and compile reports to meet project requirements, and facilitate weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reviews.
  • Provide interim support to General Managers and Heads of Department as needed, ensuring continuity across the SSN Sustainment team.

About you 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems, preferably BoardBooks and/or PLM.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in high-level office administration.
  • Proven ability to support strategic and operational objectives within a complex organisational environment.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively across all levels.
  • Experience in preparing departmental communications, board papers, and formal reports.
  • Demonstrates initiative, personal drive, and integrity in managing issues and projects.
  • Capable of working independently, managing workload effectively, and delivering accurate, detail-oriented results.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
