ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

 

About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Analyst to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program at Osbourne, SA. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will provide accurate and timely Project Controls information to Project Managers, Control Account Managers and other stakeholders and be the focal point for all Program Cost & Schedule related queries, and a key contributor in the establishment of Earned Value Management for the SSN AUKUS Build Program. This opportunity is open to any level of experience and exposure to project controls.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute Earned Value Performance Reports (EVPR) within the Program including variance analysis on performance metrics within Primavera P6 and COBRA.
  • Facilitate effective forecasting with IPTs.
  • Engage with key stakeholders within the Program, including Control Account Managers and Project Managers regularly to facilitate various Project Controls processes.
  • Facilitate effective Baseline Change Management.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the work breakdown structure (WBS) and associated WBS Dictionaries
  • Support development of Project Controls capability for the Shipbuilder with our industry partner BAE.

 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the discipline of EVM within a Project Controls team or project management experience
  • Familiarity and understanding of AS4817: 2019
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Highly effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply principles learnt to problem solving.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in data analytics & Power BI will be preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 & COBRA desirable.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
