About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Risk Specialist – Multi Class Sustainment (MCS), the Risk Advisor supports and facilitates enterprise risk management activities within this context to minimise threats and exploit opportunities.   This includes supporting the development of operational and strategic risks in alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and programs, involving risk workshops, reviews, administrative support of the risk management system, assisting in risk activities and general risk support as directed by the MCS Head of Program Governance and the MCS Leadership Teams. The Risk Advisor MCS is also responsible for ensuring that the respective Program demonstrates a disciplined approach to meet Compliance to commercial, legislative / regulatory, and internal policy obligations and contributes towards the development and testing of effective Business Continuity Plans.

This full-time role is based at our Henderson site in WA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a disciplined and structured approach to risk management in accordance with corporate Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) and Life Of Type Extension (LOTE) Program Management Plans (PMP)
  • Coordinating and facilitating risk workshops, risk activities and Risk Review Boards for all projects and program areas
  • Develop and maintain program/project risk registers whilst fostering a culture of active identification and mitigation of risks within the program
  • Coordinate and provide risk training and guidance
  • Produce key reporting inputs into the Board Performance Report (risk section), Executive Risk Management Committee, Business Assurance & Security Committee and to the Customer
  • Coordinate MCS Key Risk Indicator reporting that assists the Executive and Board to monitor compliance to the defined Risk Appetite and Risk Tolerance levels
  • Maintain the Risk Business Intelligence Dashboard to ensure it stays current and meets leadership team needs
  • Participate and contribute to the Risk Coordinators Network and Compliance Coordinators Network across the business, including participation in the Risk Academy, training programs and coaching opportunities.

 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Additional Risk Management certifications and a minimum of two years Enterprise Risk Management experience
  • Experience in Risk Management, Compliance and Business Continuity.
  • Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Exceptional communicator with excellent time management skills
  • Proactive, organised and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of work
  • Experience within the Defence Industry desirable

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
