About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Contracts Specialist with strong expertise in subcontract management and contracting activities. This role is pivotal in managing strategic supplier relationships and ensuring robust contractual frameworks that deliver value for money and mitigate risk. Unlike traditional procurement roles, this position involves minimal purchasing - the focus is on contracts and subcontracts. The role is based in Osborne, SA.

Supporting the engagement of key suppliers through contracting and procurement activity including defining sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, coordinate contracting and procurement activities to ensure value for money and delivery on time, managing subcontractor risk. The position is also responsible for leading the management of vendor furnished information including processing, expediting and reporting.

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies and subcontracting plans.
  • Lead tender processes, evaluations, and complex contract negotiations.
  • Contract management, including leading contract review meetings, monitoring key performance indicators and spend management activities.
  • Drive strategic supplier engagement to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Identification and implementation of risk management strategies to manage subcontractor risk and ensure supply chain resilience.
  • Support project teams with contractual advice and risk mitigation strategies.

 

About you 

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing or resource environment.
  • Proven track record in contract and subcontract management with track record of delivering business value.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, risk management, and contractual terms.
  • Commercial acumen and project management capability.Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
