ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. • Develop and deliver functional requirements for all designated facilities to enable an efficient, fit‑for‑purpose submarine construction environment.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the multidisciplinary Infrastructure Engineering Team, building capability across less experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to schedule development, governance documentation, and configuration management processes using a Systems Engineering approach.
  • Implement engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, DOORS) and develop templates and toolsets to support efficient scope management and technical documentation delivery.
  • Develop and execute assurance procedures, including verification, validation, design reviews, and site inspections across design and construction stages.
  • Provide practical, risk‑balanced technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on infrastructure solutions aligned with program cost, schedule, and capability requirements.
  • Support risk and opportunity management activities to address challenges in delivering complex submarine shipyard infrastructure.

About you

  • Degree in Engineering with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or equivalent professional body.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering technical projects in industrial manufacturing or construction, with experience in infrastructure design and construction project management; Defence shipbuilding experience highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to project manage infrastructure or equipment projects across design, procurement, installation, and commissioning stages.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience guiding multi-disciplinary technical teams in complex industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, requirements management, and configuration/change control processes.
  • Proficiency in engineering toolsets (e.g., AutoCAD, DOORS) and intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
