About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly analytical Supply Chain Data Insights Specialist to join a dynamic Supply Chain function supporting complex defence and sustainment programs. This role sits within a dedicated SCM Data Insights team, focused on delivering data-driven insights across inventory, procurement and warehousing performance.

You will play a key role in transforming supply chain data into meaningful insights, supporting decision-making, identifying risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyse supply chain performance across procurement, inventory, and warehousing to provide clear and actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and business intelligence (BI) tools to support data-driven decision making.
  • Monitor inventory availability, demand trends and stock health to identify risks impacting operational performance.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and forward-looking analysis to assess supply chain risks and support proactive planning.
  • Identify data quality issues and provide recommendations to improve system accuracy and reporting reliability.
  • Identify and deliver structured analytical insights to enhance visibility of supply chain performance and emerging risks.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual reporting and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on performance metrics, governance standards, and decision support needs.

 

About you 

You are a data-driven supply chain professional who thrives in complex environments and can translate data into actionable insights.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain, inventory management, or defence/heavy industry.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes, systems and data flows.
  • Experience in supply chain data analytics and insight generation.
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with SQL coding.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and/or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, IFS) and inventory optimisation tools (desirable).

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
