About the Opportunity  

This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The Systems Engineering Technical Officer will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all system requirements are accurately captured, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.  

Responsibilities  

• Capture, document, and maintain system requirements throughout the project lifecycle. 

• Facilitate communication between engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met. 

• Ensure all requirements comply with defence standards and regulatory requirements. 

• Identify and implement improvements in requirements management processes. 

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation and reports on requirements status. 

• Participate in compliance audits and ensure adherence to standards. 

• Engage with stakeholders to resolve requirements-related issues and gather feedback. 

  About you   

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 

• You have a professional certification in Requirements Management or Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP). 

• You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements management within the defence or a related industry. 

• You have a strong understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management processes. 

• You are proficient in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama). 

• You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement. 

• You have experience with defense industry standards and regulatory requirements. 

Eligibility  

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
