About the Opportunity
System Specialists apply submarine and systems knowledge in the provision of front-line technical support of maintenance activities and deployed operational platforms. As a member of the Frontline Technical Support (FLTS) team at ASC North you will play a pivotal role in supporting submarine sustainment operations through rapid technical resolution, supervision, training and continuous improvement. The role will involve providing production expertise to various departments and programs as required.
Responsibilities
The system specialist FLTS role operates within the production environment working closely with boat teams, team leads and trades with a primary function to deliver a dedicated production stoppage resolution and technical support service. The purpose is to significantly reduce response time to solutions along with administrative and technical burden on Production Team Leads enabling uninterrupted supervision of the production workforce while issues are resolved concurrently. As part of the role the system specialist uses various ASC processes such as engineering delegations, red pen amendments and growth work while also engaging the broader business including engineering, projects, planning and quality departments to provide timely solutions that are fit for purpose first time.

Further responsibilities include the maintenance and updating of Set to Work (STW) documentation, as well as offering technical and practical guidance for the revision of maintenance documents.
During the performance of their duties a system specialist is responsible for identifying and analysing the root causes of stoppages and inefficiencies, and for initiating improvements to optimise ASC performance.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
