About the Opportunity

This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. Internally referred to as a Systems Engineering Technical Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all system requirements are accurately captured, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.  

This role is a permanent full time opportunity, based from Osborne.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, document, and maintain system requirements throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Facilitate communication between engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met. 
  • Identify and implement improvements in requirements management processes. 
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation and reports on requirements status. 
  • Participate in compliance audits and ensure adherence to procedures and standards. 
  • Engage with stakeholders to resolve requirements-related issues and gather feedback. 

About you 

  • Experience in systems engineering, document management, configuration management or as a technical control officer
  • Hold qualifications in Systems Engineering, Configuration Management or a related field
  • You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements management within the defence or a related industry. 
  • You have a understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management processes. 
  • You are proficient in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama). 
  • You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement. 
  • You have experience with defence industry standards and regulatory requirements. 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.  

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
