About the Opportunity

Are you technically minded, highly organised, and ready to play a key role in supporting Australia’s submarine maintenance program? We’re looking for a dedicated and motivated Work Package Planner to join our Planning Team at Henderson WA and support major maintenance activities across the Submarine Enterprise.

In this role, you’ll help build and manage accurate maintenance work packages, support critical business systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities run smoothly and efficiently.

 

Responsibilities

  • Apply a strong understanding of maintenance activities to ensure accurate and compliant work packages.
  • Coordination and ongoing development of Maintenance Availability Work Packages (MAWP) iaw allocated project end to end milestones.
  • Ensure all Work Package Planning services are delivered in accordance with the E2E process / milestone dates (or better) and are provided in a format required by downstream customers.
  • Develop, coordinate and ensure accurate Maintenance Change Proposals, Unscheduled Corrective Maintenance and additional work task requests for allocated projects as required.
  • Conduct impact assessment of Maintenance Availability Work Packages as a result of integration of modifications to work packages resulting from work package updates including; CCI’s, CCP’s, PDR’s, SG2’s, and URDEF’s
  • Continuous improvement and adherence to the Submarine Planning Corporate Management System processes, internal work instructions and other processes required by the Project Management Plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to other departments pertaining to the allocated project MAWP. Act as point of contact between the Project Team and the Planning Team for allocated maintenance activity.
  • Work closely with project teams to build out additional activity and support end‑to‑end milestone delivery.

 

About you 

  • Demonstrated extensive corporate data base and ERP system knowledge and skills utilized to interrogate corporate tools and data bases in support of work package generation, execution and closeout.
  • A technical trade background—electrical or mechanical or relevant qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Strong capability with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across multiple levels – both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving capability.
  • Experience working with planning or maintenance systems (SIMS, ERP, IFS).

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
