About the Opportunity

The Facilities Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and continuous improvement of electrical systems and associated building services across the facility. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, company procedures, and health and safety requirements.

The role operates in a complex maintenance environment requiring effective prioritisation and reactive work, balancing operational demands, safety requirements, and resource constraints.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supports the ongoing maintenance of building services and facility infrastructure, responding to breakdowns, emergencies, and service requests while assisting with repairs, modifications, and planned shutdown activities.
  • Completion of preventative maintenance tasks on schedule, and reactive maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilising the CMMS (IFS) to manage and close out work orders.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, facilities, and management teams regarding maintenance activities and project progress.
  • Work closely with contractors and service providers undertaking electrical works.
  • Ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.

 

About you 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQURIED FOR THIS POSITION

Essential Qualifications

  • Electrical Trade Certificate and current Electrical Worker Licence.
  • High Voltage (HV) experience (desirable).
  • Current driver's licence.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance (preferred), commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and electrical regulations.

 

REQUIRED BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Teamwork – Works collaboratively with the Facilities maintenance team and broader organisation.
  • Initiative – Proactively identifies issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Safety – ensure all work is completed safely by conducting risk assessments and hazard identification prior to commencing work.
  • Accountability – Takes ownership of takes and follows through to completion.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
