About the Opportunity

Join ASC as a key member of the finance leadership team, leading the Management Accounting & Reporting function and delivering high-quality financial reporting to Exco and our shareholders. This role focuses on building and embedding robust tools, processes, and governance to support accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.

Reporting to the Head of Finance – Corporate, you will act as a trusted business partner, providing clear financial insights to support decision-making and help achieve organisational financial targets. You will also lead and develop a management accounting team, setting clear direction and performance goals.

This role suits an experienced finance professional with a strong background in management accounting, a track record of establishing best-practice processes, and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance Managers to forecast throughout the financial year against targets;
  • Lead and develop the management accounting function, ensuring high-quality financial and operational reporting across the organisation
  • Provide insightful analysis and reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Drive the transformation of finance processes to support ASC’s transition to a multi-program business environment
  • Partner with senior stakeholders and internal teams to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely financial information
  • Collaborate closely with peer Finance Managers to ensure alignment, standardisation, and efficiency in reporting formats, narratives, and outputs
  • Establish and maintain robust financial systems, processes, and governance frameworks
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking, ensuring alignment to business goals
  • Analyse variances and provide actionable recommendations to support financial performance improvements

 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting or related discipline; and
  • Full professional membership in ASCPA, ICA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification with significant post-membership experience.
  • Experience working in complex organisational environments, with strong financial analysis capability
  • Proven ability to understand, analyse, and clearly communicate financial results and business impacts
  • Demonstrated experience delivering financial reports to senior management to support decision-making
  • Strong written, reporting and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and provide direction to others
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Team-oriented mindset, with a commitment to contributing to a positive team environment
  • Experience with financial systems and tools, with the ability to optimise and enhance reporting capabilities

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
