About the Opportunity 

A Fixed Term opportunity exists for an experienced Warehouse Operator to join the ASC West team in the capacity of a Materials Handler.  The successful applicant will perform a wide variety of warehousing functions contributing to the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) maintenance program for the Australian Defence Force, as well as other internal ASC projects.   

 

Responsibilities 

  • Accurate checking, receipt and conformance of all Warehousing deliveries.

  • Transfer and put away of stock to ensure efficient storage of materials.

  • Picking and issuing of stock to internal and external customers. 

  • Carry out stocktakes and cycle counts as required. 

  • Provide in-house support to facilities and production teams as required. 

  • Use of internal database to accurately maintain stock information. 

  • Maintain a high-level of housekeeping and OH&S practices. 

  • Working as part of a team and regularly communicating with internal and external personnel. 

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within warehousing and logistics, and preferably the ability to gain a valid Defence Security Clearance.   

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a warehousing and logistics role. 

  • Previous experience working with a RF system. 

  • Valid High Risk Licence – Forklift (LF) and experience in operating a forklift. 

  • Ability to gain a valid Baseline, NV1 or higher Defence Security Clearance.

  • The ability to effectively communicate with internal and external staff, as well as key stakeholders. 

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of stock control databases and systems. 

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as strong time management skills. 

 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance. 

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
