About the Opportunity

The Engineering Tradesperson – Refrigeration and Airconditioning is responsible to provide mechanical fitting, machining and maintenance skills, knowledge and craftsmanship to the CCSM program in accordance with Operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installation, refurbishment, planned maintenance, set to work and defect rectification of the CCSM and the associated submarine systems.
• Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of Trade and Boat Team Lead.
• Delivery of completed work packs to the appropriate Trade Team Lead to support implementation and project close out in accordance with the “End to End” process.
• The ability to accurately interpret complex work scopes and implement the task as outlined in the work pack and complete the work pack in accordance with CMS process.
• Conducting work on a CCSM, in restricted areas and confined spaces, considering incompatible operations and difficult working positions all of which need careful attention to detail when conducting tasks.

About you 

• Diagnostic/Fault finding and problem solving skills.
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Commitment to work within OWH&S regulations.
• Experience within a heavy engineering/shipbuilding/ship repair industry.
• Good computer literacy
• Trade Certificate 3  Refrigeration and Airconditioning 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
