About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager – Early Careers to lead the delivery of our Early Careers programs, including Graduate, Apprenticeship, Undergraduate, and Traineeship pathways.

Reporting to the Head of Early Careers Programs, you will play a key role in shaping ASC’s future workforce by ensuring the successful planning, governance, and delivery of these programs in alignment with strategic workforce objectives.

This is a unique opportunity to combine project management excellence with meaningful impact—developing the next generation of talent supporting Australia’s national security.

This role will be based at our Osborne, South Australia site.

Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across Early Careers programs, ensuring alignment to scope, cost, schedule, and governance frameworks
  • Manage financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and earned value management
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and performance metrics
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues, ensuring timely mitigation and reporting
  • Deliver high-quality reporting to executive, board, and customer stakeholders
  • Support business cases, bids, and workforce planning activities
  • Lead and mentor a small team of Project Coordinators, fostering capability and delivery excellence
  • Collaborate across the organisation to ensure coordinated program outcomes

Essential Qualifications & Experience

You are an assertive, strategic and outcomes-focused project professional with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, or related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering complex projects or programs end-to-end
  • Strong capability in cost, schedule, and governance management
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive-level reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience in Defence, government, heavy industry or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with tools such as Primavera P6, EVM systems, or financial reporting tools
  • Knowledge of PMBOK, PRINCE2 or similar methodologies

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and a Baseline Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances.
