ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a detail‑driven Organisation Design Officer to support the delivery of organisational design and operating model initiatives across ASC. Reporting to the Organisation Design Specialist, you’ll play a key role in translating approved design decisions into high‑quality, implementation‑ready organisational models, structures and artefacts.

Working within a structured framework, you will maintain organisational data, develop artefacts such as organisation charts and capability maps, and provide analytical and coordination support across design activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, documentation and structured processes, and wants to contribute to shaping how the organisation is designed and operates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate organisational structures and workforce data, ensuring a reliable baseline for design and decision‑making.
  • Develop and maintain organisational design artefacts such as organisation charts, capability maps, service catalogues and governance documentation.
  • Translate approved design decisions into clear, structured and usable organisational models and operating model documentation.
  • Conduct data validation, analysis and quality checks to identify gaps, inconsistencies and insights that support design activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of position descriptions and job documentation.
  • Compile research and benchmarking data to support evidence‑based design and decision‑making.
  • Ensure alignment between organisational structures, job architecture and supporting artefacts.
  • Coordinate delivery of organisational design outputs and provide support across stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation quality, version control and data integrity across all artefacts and systems.

About You

  • Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in HR, organisational design, workforce planning or a similar function involving data, coordination or analysis.
  • Strong capability working with structured data and systems, such as organisational modelling or workforce tools.
  • Experience supporting development of organisational artefacts such as organisation charts, capability frameworks or governance documents.
  • Ability to conduct research, benchmarking and data analysis, and present findings clearly and accurately.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on data integrity, documentation quality and consistency.
  • Strong written and visual communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured outputs.
  • Solid organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver to timelines.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
