We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to the establishment of the Australian Shipbuilder, a new joint venture between ASC and BAE that will build Australia’s future SSNAUKUS submarines. As the Organisational Development Lead, you will play a strategic and handson role in designing and delivering organisational development frameworks that underpin a futureready submarine workforce. Working within the Workforce IPT, you will shape capability, leadership, culture and organisational design for one of Australia’s most significant national programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of organisational development frameworks supporting the SSN‑AUKUS Build Program.

  • Support the development of the organisational design for the Integrated Joint Venture, including nuclear baseline and organisational change readiness frameworks.

  • Provide project management and coordination for establishing the IJV People & Culture function.

  • Develop leadership capability frameworks and programs, and implement a unified leadership approach aligned with AUKUS partner principles to build strong, futurefocused leadership pipelines

  • Support cultural integration activities and “One Team” ways‑of‑working initiatives across ASC, BAE, and government partners.

  • Oversee the integration of OD systems and tools (e.g., Workday, PageUp, SuccessFactors), ensuring alignment with workforce planning and L&D strategies.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise‑level organisational development frameworks.

  • Strong knowledge of performance management, succession planning, leadership development and capability mapping.

  • Familiarity with OD and HR systems such as Workday, PageUp, or SuccessFactors.

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to operate strategically and operationally in complex environments, involving multiple delivery partners.

  • Experience in defence, large‑scale government programs, or major infrastructure environments (Desirable).

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
