About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Procurement Manager this position will establish and manage a panel of strategic capability partnerships and other contracts for related services to enable ASC’s strategy and Multi Class Sustainment (MCS) program. The role will be focussed on developing and managing Strategic Nuclear Capability Partnerships and will work collaboratively with other programs and capability areas in ASC to ensure optimum commercial outcomes.

You will be responsible for leading engagement with strategic capability partners and other contractors to undertake contracting and procurement activity at all levels including defining strategic sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, coordinate contracting and procurement activities ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.

 

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing process to run a competitive or sole source process to down select preferred capability partners and other contractors to conduct negotiations.
  • For new contracts and significant variations, prepare a negotiation plan that clearly sets the best case to worst case negotiated outcomes.
  • Seek review and approval of the negotiation plan. Conduct negotiations using project/SME representatives. Keep stakeholders informed of progress and use an escalation pathway as needed.
  • At all times (in negotiations or to resolve any dispute) engage with the Procurement leadership and the project leadership groups to keep them informed of progress, seek their advice and input as required.
  • Provide good governance to ensure the supplier is performing as required in accordance with the contract(s) or Purchase Order(s) (as applicable), support the project teams to confirm timely delivery of goods/services including deliverables.
  • Manage change requests submitted by the supplier(s).

 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or related.
  • In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, contracting principles and best practices.
  • Significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management.
  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing, or resource environment including experience with strategic partner agreements.
  • Eligible for membership of (CIPSA) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Australia.
  • Possesses project management skills to manage sourcing projects to agreed timelines and budget restraints.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management, financial reporting, budgeting and business case development.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
